I joined St John Ambulance after attending an essential first aid course for the public around a year ago and it's amazing to think how much I've achieved in my relatively short time as a volunteer.

I was injured in a road traffic accident in 2008 when I was five, which has left me paralysed with no sensation or movement from the chest down and limited hand function.
